Bonjour,

PE: Bring your PE strip for Monday's gym class.

Fral: Message from Mme O'Connor:
If you would like to submit your French "écrire pour un meillure monde" story to the competition by World Literacy Canada, go to: http://www.worldlit.ca/canada-programs/write-for-a-better-world/write2016/ and scroll right down to the bottom of the page. There is a link called "Submit online" that will take you to a google doc where you can copy and paste your story. They have extended the deadline to be April 25, so you still have time to revise your work if needed to make sure you have a focus on being a global citizen (they define this as someone who is empathetic, or understanding of others, respectful, and aware of different cultures). You'll need to include my name and email address: koconnor@sd61.bc.ca, and a parent or guardian's name. Good luck!

Maths: Advisory 43 & 44: If you did not complete the math homework from Tuesday (equivalent fractions and reducing fractions) ensure it is finished for Monday. Also, if you are planning on doing a retest for two-digit long division, ensure you review daily by completing at least two problems (you can make them up and check with a calculator) and be ready to do a re-test for next Thursday. Don't forget to watch the video link I posted on Tuesday's blog.

Sciences Humaines: 1)Your Map of Europe with the path of Syrian Refugees should have been handed in today Thursday. If you did not finish have it finished for Monday's class.
2) In your yellow booklet à propos des réfugiés:  questions #1-9  completed in full sentences due Monday

lundi le 12 avril 2016

Bonjour,

Devoirs:

Maths: Please complete review activity on equivalent fractions (all questions). Remember to show all your work (e.g. if you multiply the numerator by 4 and the denominator by 4 write x 4 beside each of them before writing your answer).

Note: For those still struggling with double digit long division, keep doing practice questions to improve fluency. There is a video that explains in English what I have been talking about and demonstrating in class. Be careful though...it is in English so they put a comma to separate thousands from hundreds but in French that would be a space! When you write a comma, it means you are going from units to tenths. Confusing? Tell me about it : )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdU_rf7eMTI

Anglais: Tell your parents about the documents you examined today. Was it a photo? a letter? a legal document? What was it about? Who wrote it and why?

Sciences Humaines: Map showing refugee movement ( coloured and labeled with a legend) due on Thursday for Mme Chaytors. Criteria for completing the map are on a handout from Mme Chaytors.

Fral: Good copy of 400 word short story on the theme of 'Ecrire pour un meilleur monde' is due tomorrow

Science: some students still have missing assignments to submit to Mme O'Connor
