Maths: Both Advisory 43 & 44 need to complete the review on percentages in preparation for Thursday's quiz
Reminder: Bring 5$ for field trip (and permission form) and also 2$ for our bike to school pizza lunch on Thursday.
CC days next Monday. All poems MUST be completed by Thursday (still missing drafts from a few students) and project for Mme Chaytors must be completed asap (before Thursday).
Remember sun screen/long sleeves, hat, good walking shoes for tomorrow's stroll to Mt. Tolmie in the afternoon (and a sweater if the weather is cool)

Maths: Reminder to hand in good copy of questionnaire information (including coloured graph, accompanying legend, and decimal, fraction, percentage forms for data)
Anglais: Both drafts of final two poems MUST be finished for Thursday. Good copies will be due late next week. Take the time to brainstorm vocabulary before writing the poems. You want to play with language, try new words, create a powerful image and evoke an emotional response in your reader. Say your poems aloud!

Bonjour,
Reminder to please bring all field trip forms for Swan Lake (and the 5$ fee) to Mme Couture on Tuesday. We are short parent drivers at the moment so if driving is a possibility for you, please let me know.
PE strip needed for Tuesday's gym class.
Maths: Advisory 44 and 43 should have a completed questionnaire (make up a question with 3-5 possible choices for an answer and ask 20 students in the class. Bring results on Tuesday). Also, Lesson 7 should be completed (percentages).
Anglais: Ensure you have completed at least ONE of the two drafts of your final two poems (possible poem forms on handout from last week).
Sciences Humaines: If you have not already completed your Sc. Hum. project, ensure it is handed in for Tuesday.

A reminder to bring PE strip tomorrow and also to ensure you have sunscreen or a hat to wear when outside in order to prevent a sunburn.
Devoirs:
Sciences Humaines: Projet des Enfants Réfugiés (either option #1- the journal of a child refugee or option #2- the media awareness informative poster of child refugees in 2 or 3 different countries) are due lundi le 16 mai. Don't forget if you chose option #2 you will be presenting to the class on the Monday as well. ** See yellow criteria/checklist sheet to be sure you include all project components.

Celebration of Learning/Student-led conferences: Just a reminder that if parents are planning on coming to the Celebration of Learning and wish to speak with me, I will be here between 4:30-6:20 as I need to leave early for childcare reasons. If you cannot attend during that time and wish to speak with me about something in particular, please email me to set up a time to chat on the phone or meet in person.
Field trip to Swan Lake: A permission form is going home today for a June 7th field trip to Swan Lake. We will need one parent chaperone who can attend the whole field trip (9:00-1:15/1:30) and several parent drivers for drop off/pick-up. If you can only do drop off or pick-up please indicate on the form as we still might be able to co-ordinate with another parent driver.

Several students still need to complete assignments for Fral and Sciences Nat. Please check the white board to see if you have missing work.
Maths: Please complete Question 1 (page 128) and Question 2 (page 129) on the handout relating to Equivalent Ratios. (Hint: they behave just like equivalent fractions...whatever you do to one side, you have to do to the other)

Info about a fun Saturday May 7th event
Island Savings Family Sport & Recreation Festival - Saturday May 7th 11:00am-3:00pm
The Victoria Ultimate Players Society will be taking part in this upcoming event and would like to spread the word to all youth players and their families to come out and take part in this fun festival. Being a festival for youth sports we would like to have some students come participate in the Ultimate activities this weekend.
Fun for the whole family! 11am – 3pm. This FREE event is your pre-summer destination for introducing kids to new opportunities at the club and community level, and for parents to learn more about keeping their kids engaged in healthy activities.
Brought to you by the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame and PISE, the festival features more than 30 activities for kids and families to try out including Adrenaline Zipline (by donation), outdoor rock climbing, tennis, rugby, adapted sports, and so much more! There is no cost for organizations to participate, or for families to attend!
The primary purpose is to inspire families to be more active, and to encourage youngsters to be more physically literate by getting involved in sports and recreational activities. Donations made to ride the Adrenaline Zipline will help raise funds for the SportStart Grant. Please email Amy Corkery at acorkery@piseworld.com for questions or more information.
