Bonjour,

Devoirs:

Maths: 43 needs to finish up the math expression for our last word problem involving order of operations.

 44: Finish math expressions for the three word problems I gave on a handout today (order of operations with variable to represent the unknown items' cost).

Anglais: Rewrite three of the sentences given today. Incorporate adjectives, adverbs and replace the existing verb in order to make a highly descriptive sentence.

Still missing a few field trip forms.

Devoirs:

PE strip needed for class tomorrow

Anglais: Everyone should have submitted their self evaluation and goal setting as it relates to classroom expectations. If you have not already done so, please hand this in tomorrow.

Sciences: All Powerpoint presentations should have been submitted to M D'Entremont on Friday.

Maths: 43: Please complete the mathematical expression that corresponds to the word problem we were looking at today in math (Five boys in a Clash Royale competition share the cost of  four bags of chips, two bottles of pop and three pizzas). Hint: you will need to assign a letter to each unknown cost as per the examples we did in class

Maths: 44: Please complete Partie A (two problems) and Partie C from today's review on order of operations.

Bonjour,

Reminder to bring PE strip on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays

Field trip forms need to be handed in for Cinecenta/Squash field trips

Scholastic Orders: Due on Thursday the 24th

Devoirs:

Maths: Option A: Questions 6 and 7 from handout
             Option B: "Problème de la semaine" (word problem on handout relating to order of operations or geometry)

GAFE permission forms: A few students still need to hand these in!

Science Project: Due this Friday (Powerpoint)

Anglais: Descriptive paragraphs...a few students still need to complete a second (or third) draft for Thursday. I'm seeing significant improvement and growth in student writing as a result of one-on-one conferencing and commend students on persevering with finding precise and often new vocabulary to incorporate into their prose.

Maths: Students who need to demonstrate an understanding of multiplication or division should continue to review and be ready to do another retest next week. Here is a link to the video that might help you:

Anglais: Please have the second draft (or third) of your descriptive paragraphs ready for student/teacher conferencing on Monday. Don't leave it until Sunday to do the second draft as you might forget the suggestions/feedback from Tuesday or today. Try to finish it tonight or tomorrow while our one-on-one discussion about your first or second draft is fresh in your mind.

Sciences: Powerpoint projects can be worked on at home by all those who have set up their GAFE account. Projects are due next  Friday. A few students need to get in their GAFE account permission forms in so an account can be set up for them.

Permission forms (for December field trips) and scholastic orders are welcome at earliest convenience!

Reminder that if you want to make a Scholastics order for November, please have your order form in (with cheque) by November 24th.

Devoirs:

Anglais: It is imperative that everyone has a descriptive paragraph draft to show my on Thursday! If you have not already shown me your first draft, we will touch base Thursday during Advisory or English Language Arts.

Maths: Quiz Thursday on multiples and factors (unless you did the 'review' assignment today as your quiz). Please complete today's review so we can correct it together in class on Thursday before the quiz.

Sciences: You will be setting up GAFE accounts tomorrow so you can save your projects to your GAFE accounts in future. Your powerpoint presentations are due November 25th.

Home Reading Charts for October should all be handed in by now...please submit to M D;Entremont if you hvae not already done so.

Bonjour,

Just a reminder that we are going on our second squash field trip tomorrow. Please where appropriate clothing for the weather and for playing as well as clean runners.

Maths:

Common multiples: Complete #1 a,c,e and #2 on page 18 (handout) as well as #1a, #2, #4 a,d on page 19 (back of the same handout). There will be an option to do the test on prime & composite numbers (factors) and common multiples tomorrow for those who feel ready. The test for everyone else will either be on Thursday or Monday depending on how our review goes.

Anglais: Drafts of descriptive paragraphs were supposed to be finished today. Please ensure it is ready to show me tomorrow if you were not prepared today. It is important to have a chance to get feedback before writing final draft.

Devoirs:

PE strip needed for Monday

Maths: Please ensure that you complete questions 5,6 and 8 from the common multiples handout (questions 1,2 and 3 were due today) for Monday.

Anglais: We went over the format of a descriptive paragraph and I have asked students to have their topic sentence and the body of the paragraph (3-5 sentences) completed for Monday. The concluding sentence doesn't have to be completed.

* Remember to write a "plan" for the paragraph (point form ordering of your ideas, the mood/tone you want to convey, key words you want to include) before actually tackling the writing itself.

Sciences : Extension until November 25th for the science project. It must be completed for that date so it can be evaluated before report card grades and comments need to be submitted to the office.

Anglais: Have your completed brainstorm of two different ideas which you can choose from to write your descriptive paragraph draft (DRAFT NOT YET DUE).

Maths: Finish questions on pink handout relating to prime & composite numbers (6,9,10,11) and questions that were due today if you didn't finish those. Also, please memorize all prime numbers between one and twenty.

Sciences: Test tomorrow. Make sure to review. Also, science project (powerpoint) is due November 16th. There will be more time given in class but it will be necessary to also do some work at home as this date is quickly approaching. ** Save work to GAFE account so that you can access it from school and from home to make changes **

Fral: Finish the grammar activity "L'accord de groupe du nom"

PE: Make sure to have gym strip for Monday's class.

If you are stuck...read the question carefully, check back to the notes we took in class with examples, check the sample question for #1 we did in class today, check the summary of what prime and composite number are from today's handout (section above question 1).
